Program Availability

BCIT processes applications at different times throughout the year. When to apply will vary by program and intake.

Availability is approximate. Program application status may appear to be open and accepting applications, even when a high volume of applications is pending review. Applications are processed in the order received, and available seats for an intake may be filled before all pending applications are assessed. As a result, qualified applicants may be placed on a waitlist.

Ongoing intakes: Programs that offer ongoing intakes (e.g., Skilled Trades) allow applications to be submitted on a continuous basis rather than for a single start date. Because training intakes occur continuously throughout the year, these programs show as waitlisting. Seats are filled as applications are assessed, subject to availability. If seats are filled for an upcoming intake(s), qualified applicants may be placed on a waitlist for the next available seat. BCIT will notify waitlisted applicants when a seat becomes available.
