Advanced Placement

Apply for direct entry if you are new to the program but have completed an equivalent part of it at BCIT or elsewhere and wish to apply to an advanced level.

Step 1: Meet the requirements

View your program’s Advanced Placement page for requirements.

Step 2: Prepare your application

1. Check your program’s Advanced Placement page to determine the application date.
2. Prepare your supporting documents.

Step 3: Submit your application

1. Applications are available either through EducationPlannerBC or BCIT. Use the Apply Now button on your program’s page to be directed to the correct application platform.
2. Find your program and select direct entry as your entrance type.
3. Pay the application fee.

Step 4: Complete additional courses

If you’re accepted for direct entry, you may need to complete additional courses before you begin your studies.

We recommend you apply early to allow time to complete any required courses before your program start date.

Apply for re-admission if you have previously completed part of this program at BCIT and wish to re-enter the program at an advanced level.

Step 1: Confirm you’re eligible for readmission

If you interrupted your studies, you can apply to re-enter your program at future date. Consult your program area before you reapply. Readmission to a program is not guaranteed and may depend on:

• Seat availability
• Time lapsed since enrolment
• Successful implementation of a plan to resolve previous academic difficulties
• Suitability of program selection
• Individual circumstances and other relevant criteria

1. Applications for re-admission are accepted throughout the year.
2. Prepare your documents: You may need to submit an assessment form or other documents. Check your program’s Advanced Placement page for requirements.

2. Find your program and select re-admission as your entrance type.
3. Pay the application fee.

Program requirements may have changed since your last enrolment. Be prepared to repeat courses if the course material has changed or complete new courses that have been added to your program.
