Giving to BCIT

Your gift will help BCIT students realize their dreams

Thank you for considering giving to BCIT. When you give, you’re helping students achieve their dreams and become the leaders, innovators, and creators of tomorrow. You’re also investing in BCIT, ensuring we continue to give our students a leading applied education with the best advanced technology and tools so they can meet the challenges of a complex world and create a brighter future for everyone.

There are many ways to give. Learn about making a gift through planned giving or student awards.

Jen’s story

When you’re 20 years into a career, it’s not easy to change your game plan. But as an amateur athlete competing at both local levels and on the international stage in ultimate frisbee, Jennifer Nicholls knows a thing or two about pivoting. When she wanted a career change, she knew exactly where to go to find it.

In 2019, Jen enrolled in the BCIT Forest and Natural Areas Management (FNAM) program: “I wanted to learn how to reduce environmental damage… and to give back to the community.”

The spirit of giving back is alive and well with our donors, as Jen soon realized. The mature student received six awards and scholarships thanks to the generosity of donors, who continue to support students of all ages through your commitment to education and philanthropic giving.

Jen was awarded donor-funded awards including the Canfor Trades & Technology Entrance Award, the Woodlot 0007 Achievement Award in Forest and Natural Areas Management, the BCIT Alumni Association Award, and more.

“Receiving the awards gave me confidence… in times when I was bogged down in studies,” Jen explains. “It really did validate my choice.”

Give through employee payroll

Are you a BCIT employee? Help our students achieve their dreams to become the creators, innovators, and leaders the world needs. You can easily help support them by giving regularly through payroll or by making a one-time gift. Simply complete and submit this Employee Payroll Giving form [PDF].

Establish a student scholarship, bursary, or award

The generous donors behind BCIT’s awards are the key to the success of BCIT and its students. The cost of education today makes it harder than ever for students to balance their studies and pay bills. These awards can often make the difference in a student being able to complete their studies.

Endowed awards
Endowments create a lasting legacy at BCIT by providing a permanent source of funding for scholarship, bursaries or awards. Endowments can be created to support students in specific programs or BCIT can direct the funds to program areas of greatest need. Once established, contributions can be made to the endowment from industry partners, family, or friends.

An endowment is a permanent fund supporting awards. The Endowment must generate the minimum award amount. Please contact for more information.

Annual awards

Annual gifts support student awards, scholarships or bursaries. Annual contributions may be designated to support students in specific programs or BCIT can direct the funds to program areas of greatest need.
