If you have been accepted into your program of choice, it’s important that you take the next steps in the application process to ensure you don’t lose your seat.

Acceptance letter

Once you have been accepted into a program, you will receive a letter of acceptance through myCommunication and be prompted to pay the commitment fee.

Commitment fee payment

To confirm your offer, you must pay the commitment fee within two weeks of the date of acceptance. Payment options and deadline dates are listed in your letter of acceptance. The commitment fee is non-transferable/non-refundable.

Please note: If we do not receive your commitment fee by the deadline, you will lose the seat and your application will be withdrawn.

Commitment fee amounts can vary by program, but the usual amounts are as follows:

Student Type Amount
(until Spring 2021 term)
Amount
(starting Fall 2021 term)
Technology students $200 $500
Trades students $100 $200
International students* $3,000 $3,000

*International students: After you pay your commitment fee, we will send you the official letter of acceptance required by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to apply for your post-secondary study permit via myCommunication.

To help you pay your commitment fee on time, BCIT offers multiple payment options.
