Please note: Each year BC post-secondary institutions may raise tuition by 2 per cent. In April each year, BCIT posts the new rates that take effect on August 1. If you pay your tuition prior to April using the old rates, you are required to pay the difference within 10 business days from the start of your program.

Apprenticeship program fees include Student Association, BCIT ID card, Student Services and building fees. For details, download our apprentice tuition schedule.

Paying for apprenticeship training

Note: If your employer is sponsoring your training costs, have your employer contact BCIT Apprentice Services.

A deposit of $200.00 is required to hold your training seat. This deposit can be paid directly to BCIT by credit card. The balance of your tuition is due, in full, 60 days before the start of your program.

Changes to payment options

Effective August 1, 2019: BCIT will no longer accept cash payments for tuition or rent. Only the deposit to hold your apprenticeship training seat may be paid by credit card. BCIT accepts payment from all Canadian banks and credit unions and it is the recommended method for paying your fees.

Further, BCIT will no longer be providing support or assistance with dispute resolution to students who choose to use Plastiq as a third party payment service provider in order to pay for tuition, rent, and other services, and will not be responsible for any fees incurred for such payments or returns.

Payment Options for Paying Tuition

Although you can pay your $200 deposit with credit card, the remaining balance must be paid using one of the following methods:

  1. Debit card (in person only)
  2. Cheque or money order payable to BCIT – please include your BCIT ID (student number)
  3. Online banking (bill payment) through your financial institution using BCIT – Tuition as the payee

If paying by online banking, please use your BCIT ID (student number) as your account number. Please allow up to 3 business days for online bill payments to be posted to your account.
