When to expect a decision

BCIT uses two different application processing timelines: first-qualified first-offered, and competitive. To find out which process is used find your program and review the program entry details.

  • First-qualified first-offered programs: Expect to receive a decision within 4-8 weeks of application submission.
  • Competitive programs: Decisions are typically made 4 weeks after the application deadline.

Monitoring your application status

Track the status of your application by logging into your myBCIT account and selecting “Check Application Status or Upload More Documents” from the Student Self Service Section.

Once your application has been assessed, Admissions will update your application status and notify you of any admissions decisions through myCommunication.

Applicants may hold only one active application at a time. Your second-choice program will be considered by Admissions only once a decision regarding your first-choice program has been finalized.

Understanding your application status
