The BCIT Business Management certificate program offers you the most job-relevant business skills with flexible training to accommodate your busy schedule.

With courses like our very popular Principles of Management course, this program prepares you for management and leadership roles. In your courses, you’ll learn to work effectively with others and adapt to an ever-changing business environment.

Through intensive training with industry professionals, you’ll learn key skills in all functions of business, including accounting, marketing, operations, and more. Through your hands-on work and experience, you’ll gain the perspective, abilities, and confidence to launch or advance your career in business.

Note: Effective November 23, 2020, the Certificate in Business Management will accept program declarations from domestic and international students.

About Part-time Studies

Take a single course, or work towards a credential — all at a pace that’s right for you.

Part-time courses are offered in a variety of scheduling formats, including at night or on weekends, flexible day time delivery, or you can opt for distance or online learning. If you meet the prerequisites and there’s space available, you can register for a course immediately. Courses are offered in each of three terms: Fall (September), Winter (January) and Spring/Summer (April).

To apply to a Part-time Studies program and earn your credential, you simply need to complete a Part-time Program Declaration Request. Applications are processed throughout the year.

Applicants to the BCIT School of Business are required to have completed two years of full-time study in high school or post-secondary program in English in an English speaking country. If you do not have English 12 and have not studied in an English-speaking country, you will need to demonstrate your skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The flexible course schedule and available topics let you choose the study path that best suits your own career goals. Whether you choose one or a few courses as professional development or you plan to complete your certificate, you’ll get the most job-relevant knowledge from today’s professionals to prepare you for successful leadership and a rewarding career.

Please note: part-time programs and courses are open enrolment and although we make every effort to accommodate demand, course registration cannot be guaranteed in every semester. High demand courses fill quickly and may result in students unable to register for a course that semester. Courses may also be cancelled due to low enrolment.

Program Details

With this certificate program, you’ll be earning invaluable leadership, management, and business fundamentals in just two to three years. And by offering flexible scheduling and courses at two campuses and through online learning, you’ll be improving your career prospects by training in ways that are convenient for your schedule.

In this program, you’ll develop the introductory skills with a focus on business management in a variety of topics, including marketing, operations, accounting, and computer operations. This breadth of knowledge helps prepare you for a business career, whether it’s with an employer or as an entrepreneur.

By completing this part-time program, you’ll be preparing yourself to further earn a diploma, or bachelor’s degree while also earning job-relevant skills you can use right away in your current career.

Graduating & Jobs

Through the immersive, hands-on training you receive in the Business Management certificate program, you’ll begin your path toward successful leadership and a career in management.

As a graduate, you’ll have the opportunity to apply your new skills to your current job or begin a path toward a successful career. Additionally, you may apply your course credits toward further training for improved job prospects and earning potential through the BCIT Business Administration diploma.
