Overview
About the program
The Bachelor of Creative Industries (BCI) program’s aim is to prepare students with knowledge and applied skills in three core areas: creativity, technology, and business.
The program will take the deep technical and discipline-specific skills students developed during their diploma programs and layer on critical thinking, strategic management, creativity, innovation, sustainability, inclusivity, business incubation, law and ethics in creative industries and digital communication, and emerging technical trends in multimedia. Students from different diploma programs and diverse backgrounds will learn and work together to engage in the challenges and realities of an interdisciplinary role within the creative industries sector.
Who it’s for
BCI is for applicants who have completed diplomas from any discipline who can demonstrate that their career goals are aligned with the focus of the program and who believe that completing their studies in the program will complement their area of discipline by providing breadth and depth of knowledge in the business of creativity.
What grads can do
Graduates emerge from this program with a passion for continuous learning and improvement, driven to make an impact. Career outcomes include key positions in creative organizations such as Director, Producer, Studio Head, Creative/Artistic Director, and opportunities that require high-level strategic thinking that affects and transforms the business as a whole.
Equipped to enhance their local creative communities and beyond, students are encouraged to embark on careers that champion originality and innovation.

Both! The program balances creative expression with practical skills. You’ll gain hands-on experience with tools and technologies relevant to the creative industries, while also learning business and project management skills.
Why should a diploma graduate take this degree?
BCIT degree holders have a 96% employment success rate. You’ll also create a new, expanded network of BCIT peers, and build on the foundational skills you learned in your diploma while broadening your mindset in the areas of business, creativity and technology.
