Multi-factor authentication (MFA) for students provides an extra layer of information security and helps to protect students from potential privacy and security breaches.

The Microsoft Authenticator mobile app is the preferred method to utilize MFA. This app can be downloaded on personal smartphones. Other recommended authentication options include the SafeID hardware token available for purchase at the BCIT bookstore, and software keys that can be used through other devices, like a laptop.

Some major systems that MFA is currently applied to are:

Make a request

  • Report an issue
    Having trouble using student MFA?
  • Request temporary access bypass
If you do not have your device or key with you and access is urgently needed, you can request a temporary bypass.
To do this, call the IT Service Desk during regular business hours at 604.412.7444 option 1 to verify your identity.
