VMware Inc. is a software company that provides virtualization solutions. The VMware Workstation Pro product allows virtual installs of Windows, Windows Server, and Linux distributions on a Windows device.

Instructors can request VMware to be installed in a computer lab by submitting a software request. Instructors who require their students to use VMware for a BYOD-based class must submit their class list via a VMware license request.

For personal use, current BCIT students and employees can use VMware for personal use but must request a VMware license to do so. Students in multi-year programs must request one license at the start of each year.
