Wired network connections in BCIT student residences are similar to standard Internet Service Provider (ISP) connections. They use a network protocol called Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE).

All BCIT campuses have wireless available.

Getting started

As a student resident, access to the BCIT network will be available two weeks before your registered courses begin and will continue until two weeks after your last course ends.

Connect your own Category 5 or 6 ethernet cable from the room’s network drop to the device you want to connect. This cable is the standard cable that ships with many devices. You must then configure your PPPoE connection.

Cost

There are no additional costs associated with this service.
