Thank you to everyone for making Scholarly Activity Week such a success!
This was the first event following the publishing of the Scholarly Activity Guideline in Spring 2024. The goal was to build on the Guideline document and create a forum for our community to connect, collaborate, and share the diversity of scholarly activities taking place at BCIT. By any measure, it was a great success! Over 3 days of sessions, we had:
- 22 presentations
- Over 100 participants joining
- Presenters and participants from all 6 schools, and other areas such as the Library, Learning & Teaching Centre, and Applied Research
There were great questions, great discussion, sparks of ideas for potential collaborations, adaptations of findings to new areas, and examples of all four categories of scholarly activity (application, discovery, integration, teaching/learning) happening at the Institute. Many presenters shared their presentations, so come take a look at the breadth and range of sessions during the week.
Thanks to the presenters and participants who made this week such a great community event. We will take the learning from this event and feedback from the community to roll out more activities/events in future – stay tuned!
