Available now! BCIT’s Safety Wise mobile app is your most convenient source of safety information and emergency communication when you need it most. The app features emergency contacts, safety tips, a personal safety toolbox and detailed maps to help you find your way around campus!
If you are experiencing crashes with the SafetyWise app:
- Uninstall SafetyWise, reboot the phone, and then reinstall SafetyWise from the app store
- Check if your phone storage is at or near maximum capacity as this could prevent updates from being installed
- Clear the storage and cache: Settings > Apps > Storage & Cache (Android only)
If these don’t work, please report your issue to SSEM_AppArmor@bcit.ca and include your model of phone, the version of iOS or Android installed, and a description of the issue.

Customize your BCIT Alert
BCIT’s emergency warning alert system—BCIT ALERT—is designed to keep the BCIT community connected to key information. In the event of an emergency, we will use the system to get critical information to you. Students and staff are automatically registered with their @my.bcit.ca email. Additional emails or phone numbers can be added. We also encourage family members to register for BCIT ALERT.
