The Learning and Teaching Framework [PDF] promotes continual improvement in learning and teaching practices across the Institute.
As a collaborative effort among BCIT stakeholders, the Learning and Teaching Framework provides ideas for how your school, program, faculty—and you—can support BCIT education principles in practice. The framework has four principles: empowering faculty to reach their potential as instructors; creating active, student-centred learning; designing learning environments that promote creativity and growth; and developing curriculum aligned with workplace needs.
The Learning and Teaching Innovation Grant
Twice a year, BCIT instructors and staff can apply for funding to support teaching initiatives that embody the principles of the Learning and Teaching Framework and reflect the spirit of a polytechnic “learning-by-doing” methodology. For more information, see Learning and Teaching Innovation Grant.
