New applications of remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS) continue to emerge on an almost daily basis in a wide array of industries. As a centre of competence, the RPAS Hub will serve as a central repository of RPAS equipment and expertise, available to anyone in the BCIT community for instructional, demonstration, and research purposes. Having a centralized repository will reduce redundancy and maximize capability.
With a strong mandate of safety and sustainability, the Hub will ensure that anyone undertaking RPAS-related projects using BCIT drones and sensors is properly trained in their safe operation.
By design, the Hub is a multidisciplinary and collaborative centre that is well positioned for interdisciplinary education locally and globally.
