Provide students and employees with flexible opportunities to engage in learning activities and campus initiatives that are inclusive, accessible, and accommodate diverse needs, abilities, and beliefs.
Why we are working towards accessibility for all
- Foster a more inclusive and supportive campus environment that enhances safety, affordability, and access to learning and campus services for everyone.
- Empower students and employees to fully participate in decision-making processes that shape their educational, professional, and campus experiences.
- Create meaningful opportunities for individuals to apply their unique skills and abilities in work, volunteer, and leadership roles, ensuring that everyone can contribute and thrive.
- Promote a culture of equity, innovation, and creativity where accessibility is recognized not just as a requirement but as a vital component of enriching learning experiences and enhancing collaboration.
- Ensure that learning spaces, resources, and opportunities are designed with universal accessibility in mind, making them adaptable and flexible to meet the diverse needs of all individuals, including those with physical, sensory, cognitive, or other disabilities.
- Break down barriers to participation by prioritizing accessible technologies, inclusive practices, and approaches that promote equal access to education, employment, and social engagement.

Accessibility Services
BCIT Accessibility Services is a part of BCIT’s Student Success division. We support all BCIT students who have a disability or diagnosed medical condition to identify, remove, prevent and/or manage the barriers that these conditions may create in their post-secondary experience.
