Part-time courses are offered in a variety of scheduling formats, including at night or on weekends, flexible day time delivery, or you can opt for distance or online learning. If you meet the prerequisites and there's space available, you can register for a course immediately. Courses are offered in each of three terms: Fall (September), Winter (January), and Spring/Summer (April).
To apply to a part-time program and earn your credential, you simply need to complete a Part-time Program Declaration Request. Applications are processed throughout the year.
Applicants to the BCIT School of Business are required to have completed two years of full-time study in high school or post-secondary program in English in an English speaking country. If you do not have English 12 and have not studied in an English-speaking country, you will need to demonstrate your skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Part-time students considering applying to the Finance diploma are strongly advised to begin their studies by completing the Certificate in Finance. The content covered in the program helps provide the knowledge skillset for students to excel in the diploma program. Upon completion of the certificate program, students are then recommended to continue their studies towards the Finance diploma program.
Previous full-time students, who have successfully completed Level 1, considering completing the Finance diploma through Part-time Studies, are advised to complete the Certificate in Finance.

While many students begin their careers immediately upon graduation, others decide to continue their education for a bachelor’s degree, which is required to pursue a Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) designation or the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. This diploma program ladders directly into BCIT’s Bachelor of Accounting program, and is recognized at many universities for block credit transfers.
