Dorset College and the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) have partnered to create the Dorset-BCIT Pathway: a cross-institutional agreement enabling Dorset graduates entry into BCIT’s School of Business + Media. If you complete the entire pathway you will have the opportunity to earn a BCIT Advanced Diploma in Business Management and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) Degree. This pathway will open up more creative career opportunities and offer sooner career advancement.

Business Culture Studies Diploma Advanced Diploma in Business Management Bachelor of Business Administration Degree (one year)

Year 1: Dorset College

This Dorset College program provides students with fundamental education in business culture today. Students enrolled in the Business Culture Studies program complete 14 courses, including engaging coursework in English language, social sciences, and mathematics. The program helps to develop practical managerial skills, communication skills, and business decision-making capability. Students who complete this one-year program with sufficient GPA will be eligible to apply for the pathway to the Advanced Diploma in Business Management at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT).

Year 2: BCIT

Advanced Diploma in Business Management

After completing a Dorset College program, you are ready to expand your knowledge and cultivate business management skills in BCIT’s Business Management Advanced Diploma.

Entrance requirements

Dorset College program graduates can enter into the Advanced Diploma contingent on:

  • A minimum of 65% (C+) overall in their program
  • Category 2 English requirement (English Studies 12 67%) or equivalent

Program start dates

Business Management Advanced Diploma

  • Full-time: September and January.
  • Part-time: January, April, and September.

Year 3: BCIT

Bachelor of Business Administration Degree (optional)

After completing a BCIT Business Diploma you have the option to enroll in BCIT’s Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA). The degree emphasizes critical and strategic thinking and provides students the opportunity to be better prepared for career advancement by enhancing the skills developed in their diploma programs at BCIT and Dorset College.

Enter the workforce

After completion of either a Dorset College diploma program or BCIT’s Business Management Advanced Diploma, you can enter the workforce in a variety of creative careers.
