Partner with BCIT and Empower the Next Generation of Global Supply Chain Leaders!

We’re bridging the gap between education and industry, creating a win-win partnership through BCIT Business Consulting Projects. We believe in empowering our Global Supply Chain students with real-world experience, while simultaneously providing your organization with fresh perspectives and actionable solutions to your international business challenges.

Why do we do this? Because we understand that practical application is crucial for student success, and that your business can benefit from the innovative thinking of our talented students. We want to provide you with valuable insights into crucial areas like:

  • Optimizing Your Supply Chain:
    • How can we leverage our supply chain for a significant competitive advantage?
    • How can we benchmark the best practices for your improvement opportunities?
    • How can we lower our transportation and logistics costs?
    • How can we optimize your strategic sourcing globally?
    • How to improve the productivity in warehousing, and in other business processes in your overall supply chain?
    • How to set the optimal inventory level and locations?
  • Expanding Your Global Reach:
    • How do we effectively market to a specific international demographic?
    • How can we successfully export our new product to a target country?
    • How can we start importing international goods strategically?
    • How to optimize among tariffs, trade agreements, and trade compliances for your competitive advantage?

We’re committed to fostering collaboration and delivering tangible results. By participating in a BCIT Business Consulting Project, you’re not just getting solutions—you’re investing in the education of our students and the future of global supply chain and trade.

The Business Consulting Project provides a unique opportunity for your organization to collaborate with talented Global Supply Chain Management students. A team of 2 or 3 highly motivated student consultants will work directly with your organization to tackle a specific business problem, delivering a comprehensive written report and impactful oral presentation with actionable recommendations. Twice a year, we offer this unique opportunity, with projects running one day per week for 13 weeks in the fall and three days per week for 9 weeks in the spring.

Fall Project Timeline: A Focused 13-Week Experience

  • June – August: Proposal Submission: Your organization submits your project proposal to BCIT, outlining your business challenge and possible deliverables
  • September: Team Assignment: BCIT assigns student teams to projects, matching their skills to your needs.
  • September – November: Research and Development: Student teams conduct thorough research, work with your staff, develop comprehensive solutions, and prepare a detailed written report and engaging presentation.
  • End of November: Presentation and Delivery: Student teams deliver their final oral presentation and written report directly to your organization, providing actionable recommendations.

Program PAC selects One of the fall projects from faculties’ nominations as the PAC award, the winning team presents the project in the annual program showcase event in April.

Spring Project Timeline: An Intensive 9-Week Collaboration

  • October – December: Proposal Submission: Similar to the fall, your organization submits your project proposal.
  • January: Project Selection: Student teams review and select projects that align with their interests and expertise.
  • February – March: Project Alignment: Students, faculty advisors, and your organization collaborate to finalize project details and ensure clear expectations.
  • March – May: In-Depth Research and Solution Development: Student teams conduct extensive research, collaborate with your teams, refine their solutions, and prepare a polished written report and presentation.
  • 1st week of May: Final Presentation and Delivery: Student teams deliver their final oral presentation and written report to your organization, providing impactful insights and recommendations.

Spring projects require a $750 donation to our student scholarship fund (a taxable benefit), directly supporting the next generation of industry professionals.

Submit your project proposal and discover the value BCIT students can bring to your organization. Welcome to join us in shaping the future of global supply chain and trade.
