At BCIT Business + Media, you can choose from over 120 unique programs and 300 courses to help you reach your career goals. In each program you will find small class sizes, applied learning taught by real-world professionals, and accelerated programs meaning you can get a job in industry in only two years.
While at BCIT, you will be placed in a “set” of 22 to 26 students. These students will become your working group, future professional network, and your life-long friends. For more than 50 years, BCIT Business + Media has been the premier provider of the applied business education that industry continues to demand.
Our accelerated programs give you the opportunity pursue a career in industry after only two years, or ladder your program and continue into the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) or Bachelor of Accounting (BAcc) programs.
BCIT Business + Media is organized into six departments designed to offer business programs and courses to cover every corner of the industry. These departments include Accounting, Finance, and Insurance; Business Administration; Broadcast & Media; Digital Arts, Media & Design; Marketing Management; Operations Management; and Part-time Studies & Corporate Training. The general entrance requirements for most BCIT Business + Media diploma programs are:
- C+(67%) in English 12 (If you have 3 credits of post-secondary English, Humanities or Social Sciences (67%) from a recognized institution, you also meet the English 12 requirement).
- Two years of education in an English-Speaking Country.
- C+(67%) in Math 11.
Skills assessments are available if you believe your skills are not reflected in your transcript. If you don’t pass an assessment, or you feel you need to refresh your skills in preparation for a full-time program, there are different part-time studies courses you can enroll in to help you meet our entrance requirements. BCIT School of Business + Media offers applied education proven to lead into jobs. Clubs can offer you an opportunity to build your network and make you stand out from your peers. BCIT has a wide variety of clubs including BCITMA, Enactus BCIT, BCIT JDC West, YWiB, and many more business and non-business related clubs.
BCIT Marketing Association (BCITMA) is BCIT’s chapter the of American Marketing Association (AMA). BCITMA is a premier professional marketing association that provides networking access in a fun environment while supporting its members with a central source of marketing education on leading edge topics. The BCIT chapter is one of the top teams in North America.
Enactus BCIT is BCIT’s chapter of Enactus, one of the largest global business and higher education networks in the world, impacting over 115 countries worldwide. Enactus BCIT members devote themselves to developing entrepreneurial solutions to economic, social, and environmental problems.
BCIT JDC West is an annual prestigious competition. BCIT JDC West consists of debate team, social team, athletic team and four academic teams. In just four years of competition, BCIT has brought home six awards.
Young Women in Business (YWiB) is a community for emerging female leaders and young professionals who want to create their own success. YWiB provides young women and professionals with events, programs and an engaged network of ambitious women, to help them become successful in their careers, take on new challenges and develop skills.

Career Exploration Program
The Career Exploration Program (CEP) is a paid program available over the summer. Over the course of two weeks, you can explore career suitability and options while gaining multimedia experience to enhance employment opportunities and develop your communication skills for personal and professional growth. After graduating from Burnaby Mountain Secondary School in Burnaby, British Columbia, Tyson came directly to BCIT to study Financial Planning. After a successful two years in the the program, Tyson pursued his BBA. Upon graduation, Tyson started his career as an Associate, Wealth Management at RBC Dominion.
