BCIT Business Summer Field Schools combine academic lectures held by BCIT instructors and international guest speakers with company visits and immersive cultural activities at international locations. By attending a Field School you’ll have the opportunity to receive credits for academic courses, learn about international business practices by visiting multinational companies, and ultimately, be fully immersed in the local culture.
The options for the 2022 BCIT Summer Field School include: Austria and Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands, or Japan. There are several scholarships and awards available for studying abroad.
Austria and Italy
Dates: June 26 – July 16, 2022
Theme: Luxury Marketing
Cities: Vienna, Vicenza, Milan, Bologna, Trieste, and Venice
Company visits: Ludwig Reiter, Lamborghini or Ferrari, Illy Caffe, Ducati, McArthur Glen Outlet, Chiarli Winery, Giorgio Armani, FRAU, Bisazza Mosaico, Fincantieri Yachts, Nonino Distillatori S.r.l, United Nations Information Service (UNIS) Vienna, and Granarolo
Cultural visits: Museum of Applied Arts, Albertina Museum, Belvedere Palace and Museum, The Opera House in Vienna, Andrea Palladio’s Teatro Olimpico and Villas, UNIBO, and wine tasting

Belgium and the Netherlands
Dates: July 24 – August 6, 2022
Theme: Risky business
Cities: Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Ghent, Bruges, and Antwerp
Companies: ING, Heineken, Port of Rotterdam, Gouda Cheese Factory, Neuhaus Chocolatier, Antwerp Diamond Centre, Brewery De Halve Maan, and Plopsa
Cultural visits: Gravensteen Medieval Castle, Historic Centre of Bruges, and Gouda Canals

Dates: July 24 – August 11, 2022
Cities: Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya, Yokohama and Tokyo
Companies: Daimon Sake Brewery, Kirin Brewery Company, Suntory Yamazaki Distillery, Tower Knives, and Toyota
Cultural visits: Cup Noodles Museum, Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine, Japan Mint Museum, Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Museum Mejiji-Mura, Nagoya Castle, Umeda Sky Building, and Toyota Municipal Museum of Art
