Studying abroad at BCIT opens the door to a new and exciting experience. However, some things–like figuring out tuition and school fees–can be a little confusing. To help you with calculating the cost of studying here, this section provides detailed tuition sheets and information on fees included in your tuition. Tuition for international students varies depending on how you choose to study at BCIT:

Why international tuition fees exist

The International schedule of tuition is higher by a fixed proportion for all programs because it recovers the full costs of instruction, both direct and indirect.

Changes to payment options

Effective August 1, 2019: BCIT will no longer accept cash payments for tuition or rent. BCIT accepts payment from all Canadian banks and credit unions and it is the recommended method for paying your fees.

Further, BCIT will no longer be providing support or assistance with dispute resolution to students who choose to use Plastiq as a third party payment service provider in order to pay for tuition, rent, and other services, and will not be responsible for any fees incurred for such payments or returns.

  • BCIT Student Association Health Plan fee
  • BCIT Student Association Capital Levy fee
  • BCIT Student Association Building Centre fee

  • Student Services fee
  • Building fee
  • Mandatory Clinical or Practicum Fee

U-Pass

Total tuition cost listed in the full-time tuition schedules does not include the U-Pass BC fee. The U-Pass BC fee will be charged upon registration and is a mandatory fee for all eligible students.

Transfer credit

Where academic credit has been granted within a full-time studies program a student’s course load will be reduced, however full-time tuition will not be reduced.

Tuition for full-time studies programs varies depending on the year you enter your selected program.

  • BCIT Student Association Activity fee
  • BCIT Student Association Health Plan fee
  • BCIT Student Association Capital Levy fee

  • Student Services fee
  • Building fee
  • Tool deposit, Lab, or Flying fee

Note: Coveralls fees are included for applicable programs delivered at the following campuses: Annacis Island, Aerospace, and Marine. Students are required to supply their own coveralls for programs delivered at the Burnaby campus.

U-Pass

Total tuition cost listed in the full-time tuition schedules does not include the U-Pass BC fee. The U-Pass BC fee will be charged upon registration and is a mandatory fee for all eligible students.

Tuition for Part-Time Studies Courses

You can find the cost for your part-time course in our online course catalogue. Tuition fees appear with information for each course offering, as shown below:

Standard Part-time Studies courses for International students will carry 3 times the tuition fee beginning in the fall term, starting August 2019. For more information, please visit our International FAQ page. Distance & Online Learning courses carry 1.25 times the fee.

As a student in part-time studies, you are required to pay service fees (building, student activity, registration and BCIT ID card). You can search for the cost of course materials and textbooks by accessing the BCIT Bookstore online.

Transfer from one course to another

Visit us in person or call BCIT at 604-434-1610 or toll-free at 1-866-434-1610 (Canada and US only) to request a transfer from one course to another. The transfer is subject to a $16 fee and must be requested and processed before the refund deadline.

Refunds, withdrawals & study permit denial
