Your application will remain incomplete until Admissions receives proof that you have completed or are actively completing all published admission requirements. To ensure your application can be processed, required documents must be uploaded with your online application or through your myBCIT account after you apply. Upload only transcripts and documents that support one or more of your program’s entrance requirements. Do not submit anything that is not relevant to your application.
Your application completion date is the date Admissions receives all required documents needed to assess your eligibility for admission, which may differ from the date you submitted your application. If Admissions does not receive the required documents by the published application deadline, or by your assigned deadline to submit outstanding requirements, your application will be closed.
Before you apply
- Review your program’s entrance requirements. Each program at BCIT has unique requirements. Review the ‘Entrance Requirements’ section of your program page and note the documents you must provide.
- Gather your documentation. Collect the transcripts and supporting documents that prove how you satisfy the entrance requirements for your program (e.g., official transcripts, proof of English Language Proficiency [ELP], questionnaires, reference letters, portfolios, or other program-specific requirements).
- Prepare your files. All documents must be saved and uploaded as PDF files. After your files are ready, you can submit your application through EducationPlannerBC.
For academic requirements
Note: BCIT may request the original official transcripts or other academic documentation at any time.
For non-academic requirements
Some programs require additional documentation for non-academic requirements (e.g., driver’s license, résumé or curriculum vitae [CV], letter of reference, portfolio, forms, assessments, or questionnaires) that must be submitted with your application.
Some programs also have additional non-academic requirements that must be completed after you receive a conditional acceptance (e.g., immunization records, criminal record checks, proof of certifications, licenses, or other clearances). These requirements will be communicated once conditional acceptance is issued.
Check your program page to confirm any additional requirements.
Preparing your documents (PDF format)
You must upload your documents as PDF files with your online application. What you need to know:
- One PDF per document upload
- Multipage documents combined into a single PDF
- Front and back of every page for official documents (including blank pages)
- All text and images are clear and readable
- Maximum file size: 10MB (EPBC) or 2MB (myBCIT)
