Co-op students
Co-op students are available for longer work terms at 15-33 weeks, full time, paid entry level employment.
- Review our available Trades and Technology co-op programs.
- Send your job description to the appropriate Co-op Coordinator.
- Review applications. The Co-op Office will send you the applications.
- Conduct interviews. The Co-op Office can support by scheduling interviews with the students.
- Make an offer.
Co-op supports and services
You are not alone in hiring and supporting a student. BCIT’s Co-op staff will guide you through posting your job, scheduling interviews, and facilitating job offers. Additionally, they are available throughout the work term to help with communication or performance discussions. For Trades Co-op programs, the Centre for Workplace Education will also act as the student’s sponsor for Skilled Trades BC work based training hours.

Inclusive Job Posting Guidelines For Co-op Employers
- Use Clear and Inclusive Language
Use plain language, avoid jargon and gendered or exclusionary terms, and ensure wording is inclusive. - Focus on Essential Qualifications
Clearly distinguish required vs. preferred qualifications and avoid unnecessary requirements. - Highlight Inclusion and Accessibility
Include a statement committing to inclusion and inviting accommodation requests. - Be Transparent
Include pay range, schedule, and work location details. - Highlight Support for Students
Describe mentorship, training, onboarding, and feedback opportunities. - Reduce Barriers
Keep application simple and avoid unnecessary documentation. - Ensure Accessibility
