For over 15 years, BCIT’s Forensic DNA lab has collaborated with the BC Coroner Service and police agencies, where the latest DNA technologies are needed to help solve complex human identification cases.
The lab can handle forensic casework within its scope of accreditation, which is the same level of certification as the RCMP laboratory.
Our team is proud of our DNA-based humanitarian and investigative work for our local, national, and international clients, as well as educating the next generation of forensic scientists.
We look forward to continuing working with stakeholders to help ease the burden of case backlogs.
