About Us

Nathan Devos is BCIT’s Program Head for English Language Support, guiding the Language Success Team since 2020. With degrees from Bielefeld University (Germany) he has taught diverse subjects—second language acquisition, motivation, business communication, and scientific writing—in Germany and Canada (2008-2020). He led the Professional English Language Development (PELD) program (2017-2020) and briefly served as a Test Development Specialist in R&D at Paragon Testing Enterprises. Since 2018, Nathan has secured $600,000+ for academic support research. His publications encompass teacher education, content and language integrated learning, and assessment. Nathan’s leadership underscores his commitment to enhancing educational excellence for students at BCIT.

Peter has been teaching EAL and Communications at the post-secondary level for 15 years, 10 of those at BCIT, plus 5 at a university in South Korea. He earned his MA TESOL at Dankook University in Seoul, where he focused on task-design. He has also served as Program Head at BCIT’s International Student Entry Program (ISEP) for 2 years. With over 10,000 classroom hours under his belt, he is proud to be as passionate about teaching today as he was on day 1.
