BCIT Student Housing Bursary

To receive the BCIT Student Housing Bursary, you must meet the following eligibility requirements:

• Be a full-time BCIT student who has accepted an offer to live in BCIT Student Housing in the 2026-2027 academic year
  • For the current application period, only students who will be living in BCIT Student Housing in Fall 2026 will be considered. If you will be moving in in Winter 2027, please apply during the next application period (November 2026).
• Paid your deposit to live in BCIT Student Housing
• If approved for the BCIT Student Housing Bursary, you must remain in BCIT Student Housing to remain eligible. If you move out earlier than anticipated, approved funds and/or future disbursements may be cancelled.

Selection will be made based on students’ demonstrated financial need and/or extenuating circumstances. The BCIT Student Housing Bursary is a limited fund and we are not able to provide the bursary to all suitable applicants.

Unfortunately, the following residents are not eligible for the BCIT Student Housing Bursary:

• Short-stay residents
• Resident Advisors
• Incoming exchange students
• Students living off campus
• Students who haven’t received a housing offer before the application deadline.
  • If you haven’t received a housing offer by the current application deadline, please apply for this bursary during the next application period.

• The BCIT Student Housing Bursary application is available through your Financial Aid Self Service -> Web Applications.
• Completed applications must be submitted online by 11:59 pm on Sunday July 12^th, 2026.
• You may begin your application any time, and update your application as many times as needed before the submission deadline.
• Remember to SAVE all application edits you make, and click the “Mark Application as Complete” button to submit your final application.  Applications not marked as complete before the submission deadline will not be considered.

• Approved students will receive:
  • $1000 in the Fall 2026 term
  • Another $1000 in the Winter 2027 term, if they continue to live in BCIT Student Housing for winter

• Decisions for the BCIT Student Housing Bursary will be available through Financial Aid Self Service by the end of July. Results will also be sent to your myBCIT email address.
• To view your results:
  • Log in to your Financial Aid Self Service with your student ID number (A#…)
  • Select the ‘Web application’ icon to view your application status
• If you are approved, the bursary will be paid to you before the end of September.
  • You may set up your Direct Deposit (EFT) ahead of time, so that the funds can be issued via direct deposit.
  • If you are approved, you will receive an email to your myBCIT email address with detailed information about the release of your funds.
