BCIT awards

This section contains information on awards that are available specifically for full-time students who are currently enrolled in, or have been accepted to, an eligible program at BCIT.

You are considered a full-time student if you are enrolled in 60% or more of a 100% course load; see the course load criteria below.

To be eligible for entrance awards, bursaries, or achievement awards, a student must be enrolled in a minimum 60% course load; 40% for students with approved permanent disability status; 12 credits minimum per term for degrees
Academic awards and Scholarships are based on a 100% course load.

This table outlines BCIT’s “minimum full-time course load” (60%) requirements:

*Actual weeks means the number of calendar weeks from the first class to the final exam.

Entrance awards recognize academic and non-academic achievements of students entering an eligible full-time BCIT program.

A Bursary is a non-repayable award granted to a full-time student who is in financial need and who is progressing satisfactorily in their BCIT program.

Academic Awards recognize full-time student academic performance. These are awarded automatically; no application is required.
