Cost of Living Grant for International Students

As part of BCIT’s commitment to supporting international students, Student Financial Aid & Awards office is pleased to offer a $800 Cost of Living Grant to assist international students facing financial challenges due to the high cost of living in the Lower Mainland. This grant is intended to promote the well-being and stability of BCIT’s international student community.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for this grant, students must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Be an international student
  • Reside in Canada while undertaking the 2026 Fall term studies
  • Be enrolled in a minimum of 9 credits in any BCIT program in Fall 2026

Application Process

Submit your application for the Cost of Living Grant by completing the following:

  • An application form through your myBCIT account

How to Apply

The application form is available on your myBCIT account. Follow these steps:

    1. Go to myBCIT , and log in to your account.
    2. Click Online Self-Service.
    3. Select “Student Financial Aid & Awards” from the menu.
    4. Log in again with your A# Student ID.
    5. Select the “Application” icon.
    6. Select the correct “application term” and “Cost of Living Grant for Intl Students” to begin.

Note: Please read the instructions carefully and ensure all required fields are filled out. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

How to See Your Application Results

Application results will be visible through the “Web Application” section in myBCIT. If your status says “Approved,” you will receive the $800 grant. To receive your grant as quickly as possible, we strongly encourage you to register for Direct Deposit (EFT) through BCIT Financial Services. If you are not registered for EFT, your grant will be issued by cheque and mailed within four weeks of application approval. If you are receiving a cheque, please ensure your mailing address is up to date in your myBCIT account.

Application Deadline

Applications open October 1, 2026, and close October 23, 2026, at 11:59 p.m., or earlier if all available funding has been allocated.
