British Columbia Graduate Scholarship (BCGS)

  • For eligible Master’s degree programs beginning September 2026

*The online application closes at 11:59pm on the last day of the application window.

Recipients will be selected on a competitive basis.

How to apply online:

1. Log in to myBCIT.
2. Online Self-Service
3. Choose Student Financial Aid & Awards
4. Log in again using your A# Student ID
5. Select the Web Application icon.
6. Choose the correct application term and select BC Graduate Scholarship – Online Application to begin.

Important:

• You may update your application at any time during the application period by selecting Save Section.
• Once all sections are marked COMPLETE, you must select Mark Application as Complete to officially submit.
• Applications not marked complete will not be reviewed.
• No changes can be made after the application deadline.

While the application is completed online, all transcripts must be emailed by the deadline to: sawards@bcit.ca

To complete your application, you must submit the following by the application deadline:

• A copy of your official transcripts from the post-secondary institution(s) where you obtained your undergraduate degree.  If you attended multiple post-secondary institutions, please include all transcripts.
  • English translations must accompany transcripts that are in another language
  • Submit both the front and back sides of each transcript

Important:

• You are responsible for submitting all transcripts, including translations if required.
• If you are a current BCIT student or a BCIT graduate, a copy of your BCIT transcript or an unofficial statement of marks is still required.
• Transcripts submitted to other BCIT departments are not accessible to Student Financial Aid and Awards.
• Official transcripts must be received by the application deadline. Applications without transcripts will not be considered.

Email your transcripts to: sawards@bcit.ca and be sure to include your full name, BCIT student ID number, and indicate that you are applying for the BC Graduate Scholarship (BCGS).

Award results will be available on my.bcit.ca by the end of September. You will receive an email from us when results become available.

To view your results, log in to myBCIT and select:

1. Online Self-Service
2. Select ‘Student Financial Aid & Awards’ from the menu
3. Log in again with your A# student ID
4. Select the ‘Web application’ icon to view your application status
5. If approved, select the ‘Awards Won’ icon to view amount of your award

Award recipients will receive a confirmation letter via their myBCIT communications with payment details.

Students can register for Direct Deposit (EFT) through BCIT Financial Services for any expected payments including awards, scholarships, and bursaries. Register for Direct Deposit through this link.

If you do not register for EFT, payment will be issued by cheque and mailed. Please ensure your mailing address is up to date in your myBCIT account.

Note: If you have outstanding monies owing to BCIT, this amount will be deducted from your award.

Please ensure you are familiar with the terms and conditions of BC Graduate Scholarships (BCGS).

• Applicants are responsible for ensuring all documents are received by the BCIT Student Financial Aid and Awards office by the applicable deadline date. Incomplete or late BC Graduate Scholarships (BCGS) applications will not be considered.
• All BC Graduate Scholarships applicants are notified of decisions in writing.
• BC Graduate Scholarships are tenable only at BCIT and are not transferable.
• BC Graduate Scholarships are not deferrable and must be accepted in the year in which they are awarded.
• Applicants must remain in the program that their award was given for.
• Failure to adhere to all BC Graduate Scholarship criteria will result in the award being revoked. At that time, you will have 30 days to repay the amount of the award.
