Clinical Course Length Course Objectives Student Prerequisites
NMED 2040 2 hours per week, Spring of the first year Introduction and orientation. Guest lecturers and site visits to prepare for clinical rotations.
NMED 2090 12 weeks (420 hours), June through August of the first year Initial development of the skills necessary to function safely and competently in a nuclear medicine department. Delivers hands-on experience in all aspects of in-vitro and in-vivo procedures with a high level of instruction and supervision. Successful term 2 completion
NMED 3080 6 weeks (210 hours), two week alternating rotations during term 3 Continued development of the skills necessary to function safely and competently in a nuclear medicine department. Students are expected to function with a decreased level of instruction and supervision. NMED 2090
NMED 4080 8 weeks (280 hours), two week alternating rotations during term 4 Continued development of the skills necessary to function safely and competently in a Nuclear Medicine department. Students are expected to demonstrate increased independence to initiate and perform tasks with a decreased level of instruction and supervision. NMED 3080
NMED 4090 14 weeks (490 hours), June through August of the 2nd year Competently initiate, perform and evaluate all aspects of the Nuclear Medicine skills profile under supervision but without assistance from the teaching technologist. NMED 4080
