BCIT Student Housing Bursary

To receive the BCIT Student Housing Bursary, you must meet the following eligibility requirements:

• You must have received and accepted an offer to live in BCIT Student Housing in the 2025-2026 academic year, and paid your deposit.
• If approved for the BCIT Student Housing Bursary, you must remain in BCIT Student Housing to remain eligible. If you move out earlier than anticipated, approved funds and/or future disbursements may be cancelled.
• Selection will be made on a competitive basis based on financial need and/or extenuating circumstances.
• The BCIT Student Housing Bursary is a limited fund and we are not able to provide the bursary to all suitable applicants.
• For the current application period, priority will be given to residents who received their housing offer after the previous application closed in August 2025.

Unfortunately, the following residents are not eligible for the BCIT Student Housing Bursary:

• Short-stay residents
• Resident Advisors
• Students who haven’t received a housing offer before the application deadline

• The BCIT Student Housing Bursary application is available through your myBCIT account -> Student Financial Aid & Awards -> Web Applications.
• Completed applications must be submitted online by 11:59 pm on January 4, 2026.
• You may begin your application any time, and update your application as many times as needed before the submission deadline.
• Remember to SAVE all application edits you make, and click the “Mark Application as Complete” button to submit your final application.  Applications not marked as complete before the submission deadline will not be considered.

• For students approved during this application period, the bursary will be $1000.

• Decisions for the BCIT Student Housing Bursary will be available on your myBCIT account by the end of January. You will receive an email from Financial Aid & Awards when results become available.
• To view your results, log in to myBCIT and select:
  • Online Self-Service
  • Select ‘Student Financial Aid & Awards’ from the menu
  • Log in again with your A# student ID
  • Select the ‘Web application’ icon to view your application status
• If you are approved, the bursary will be applied to your account before the end of January. If you have housing fees owing at that time, the bursary will be applied towards your housing balance. If your housing fees are paid at that time, the bursary will be issued as a cheque, mailed to the address you have on file.
  • To avoid delays in receiving your cheque, make sure your address is up-to-date in your myBCIT account.
