For International Students

Private Medical Insurance

Note:

Please check Guard.me’s FAQ and COVID-19 Update for details regarding Guard.me medical insurance coverage for international students in Canada.

International students must have private basic medical insurance coverage for any period of time that they will study at BCIT while they are not covered by BC Medical Services Plan (MSP).

This includes:

  • the MSP coverage wait period for any student upon arrival to BC or returning after a long-term absence from BC
  • the entire stay in BC for Exchange and Study Abroad students staying for a single term (who are not eligible for MSP)
