Can I have the Hiring Manager’s contact information?

If you are shortlisted to meet with the Selection Committee, you will have the opportunity to connect with the Hiring Manager as part of the interview stage. We do not provide contact information of Hiring Managers prior to this stage.

Did you receive my application?

If you received a confirmation email after submitting your application, we have received your application. We thank you in advance for your patience as applications may take time to review. Please note that if you follow-up prior to the posting close date, we are unable to provide an update as applications are reviewed in the weeks following the posting’s close date. If the competition is open until filled, you will be notified if you are shortlisted or if the competition is filled.

I tried to reset my password and didn’t get an email, what do I do?

Please email RecruitmentAssistant@bcit.ca and include your full name, email address and telephone number to help us troubleshoot.

How can I update the documents on my application?

Please email us with the competition number (job posting number) that you applied to and include your Resume and/or Cover Letter you wish to update as two separate attached PDF documents. Our team will let you know once we have updated your application.

I accidently withdrew my application; how can I fix this?

Please forward the email you received indicating that your application has been withdrawn to RecruitmentAssistant@bcit.ca so that we can add you back into the competition.

Can I add additional documents to my application?

We appreciate you wishing to supply additional information, however you cannot add any additional documents except for your cover letter and resume. If we need additional information after reviewing your resume and cover letter, we will let you know.

Can I email my application or drop it off in-person?

Please note that all applications must be submitted directly to the applicable job posting on the BCIT Careers page. If you need assistance or require an accommodation during the application process, please let us know at RecruitmentAssistant@bcit.ca.

What’s the status of my application?

You can review the status of your application(s) by following the below steps:

  • Log into your BCIT Careers account
  • Click Your Applications (located on the menu on the far-left side of the page)
  • Review the Status column over each posting application

If the status appears to be blank, this means your application is currently within the application pool for review and we are unable to provide a timeline of next steps.

What qualifications do I need to apply to positions at BCIT?

Please review the “Qualifications” sections on our job postings. Please note that all positions have different qualification requirements, and each positing will note what is required. We welcome and encourage all applicants to apply to anything they feel could be a fit.

Can you help me find a job as a student at BCIT?

If you have questions about opportunities available to students, please connect with the BCIT Student Service: Career Services for further assistance. The BCIT eJobs website is a job board available to students, recent graduates, and BCIT alumni. Please note that these are for opportunities outside BCIT.

Is this opportunity eligible for remote work?

Some of our positions may have hybrid-remote work available. If a position you have an interest in is eligible for this, you will see flexible hybrid-remote opportunities available under the benefits section of the job posting. If that bullet-point is not listed, the position is not eligible for hybrid-remote work.

At BCIT, our hybrid-remote work model has all departments spending the majority of their time on campus.

Can I have feedback on my application?

We thank all interested applicants for their interest in positions at BCIT! While we would love to provide you with feedback, we can offer this to those who were shortlisted and participated in the application process. We are unable to provide feedback to applicants who were not shortlisted.

We encourage you to review each vacancy’s job posting in detail. When writing your resume and cover letter, be sure to highlight key knowledge, skills, and abilities you could bring to the role based on what the job posting is looking for.

Can you send me a copy of the job description for a role I have applied to?

You can access the job descriptions for all positions that you have applied to via the BCIT Careers site. To locate the job descriptions for competitions that you have applied to, please follow the below instructions:

  • Log into your BCIT Careers account
  • Click Your Applications (located on the menu on the far left side of the page)
  • There will be a hyperlink for each of the position titles that you have applied to
  • Click the hyperlink for the job title to be taken to the full job description for the position(s) you have applied for.

I wish to delete my BCIT Careers account

Please email HRIS@bcit.ca team to let them know you wish to delete your account; please provide the email address and username your account is associated with.
