Early Assist is a confidential service where you can work 1:1 with a case manager to explore solutions, access BCIT resources, and create an clear action plan to navigate personal, academic, or life challenges. Appointments are booked through their online portal. - Academic Accommodations for Reservists Form [PDF]
BCIT understands Reservists may have to leave their studies for a brief period to fulfil military commitments. A Statement of Agreement for Academic Accommodations for Reserve Force Students is available, to support accommodation requests. - Student Advocacy | advocacy@bcitsa.ca
Student Advocacy provides confidential 1:1 guidance to help you understand your rights, navigate academic or program concerns, and resolve conflicts. In-person, online and phone meetings are available through appointments. - Student Benefits Opt-Out
If you have comparable coverage, you may opt-out of health, dental, or both plans. Opt-out is available in two cases: (1) when you are a new student and (2) when you are returning on the anniversary of starting an eligible full-time program. The Opt-Out Form is available after completing the Eligibility Confirmation section.

Student Health Services hosts a clinic that provides students with access to physicians and nurses, emergency care, promotion of wellness and healthy lifestyles, and confidentiality. Appointments are booked through phone or their online portal. - Counselling & Student Development | 604-432-8608

BCIT offers several recreational services including free access to the weight room, organized sports, exercise classes, equipment rentals, and more.

Three awards are available for graduates of certificate, diploma, or degree programs. Two of these awards are valued at $2,000 each, and the third is worth $2,500. If your company or agency is covering your tuition, the sponsorship page outlines the steps to register, submit your documents, and understand how payments, refunds, and course changes are handled when sponsored. The process will vary depending on whether you are a full-time or flexible learning student.

There are many clubs, groups and associations at BCIT that help you meet new people, gain experience for your resume, and network with industry. Club booths should be set up in the Great Hally during orientation day so be sure to check them out! - Bus / U-Pass BC
Parking costs add up, so if you are enrolling in a full-time program, we encourage you to take transit and make use of the U-Pass included in your student fees. Instructions for obtaining your U-Pass can be found on the associated webpage. - Campus Parking | parking@bcit.ca
If you are driving, designated student parking is available at all BCIT campuses. Weekly, monthly, or flex passes can be purchased through Concord CTRL by logging in with your BCIT email and password.

- Veterans Transition Network (VTN)
VTN is a Canadian charity delivering mental health services specifically for Veterans. With guidance from trained psychologists and Veteran peer supporters, participants build connections and learn meaningful skills for a successful post-service life. - Operational Stress Injury Social Support (OSISS) | OSISS-SSBSO@forces.gc.ca
Provides peer-based support for Canadian Armed Forces members, Veterans, and their families who may be experiencing challenges related to operational stress injuries. Through confidential one-on-one and group support, trained peers with lived experience offer understanding, guidance, and connection to help individuals and families navigate recover and access resources. - Member Assistance Program | 1-800-268-7708
This Federal program is available 24/7 and offers free, confidential, short-term mental health support to help with concerns affecting your personal or professional well-being, such as stress management and family relationships. - Canada Suicide Prevention Service (CSPS) | 988
If you are dealing with thoughts of suicide, or are concerned about someone else, the 9-8-8: Suicide Crisis Helpline is available 24/7 to listen without judgement, provide support and understanding, and connect you with resources that will help. Available 24/7, the Family Information Line provides confidential, bilingual support and resources for CAF members, families, and Veterans. Support is available through the phone, email, and video appointments.

MFRC helps connect military families to a wide range of programs and services to help build strong, resilient individuals, families and communities. Staff who understand the military lifestyle are available to assist with questions about parenting, employment, skill-building, and more. - Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS)

Legion Service Officers are available to provide guidance and representation for Veterans to help you access benefits through Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC). You can also connect with your local Legion Branch to volunteer, join the board, access support services, and take part in community events.
- Veterans Affairs Canada Emergency Funds
Provides financial support to Veterans, their families, and survivors, who are facing unforeseen financial emergency that is threatening their health and well-being. The fund can cover essentials such as food, clothing, uninsured medical care, and more. - Veterans Emergency Transition Services Canada (VETS Canada)
Supports Canadian Veterans through several outreach programs (e.g., housing, utility bills, etc.) which work to identify needs, promote healing, and provide necessities for immediate and ongoing benefits and dignity to those who have served. - Veterans Homelessness Program
This program of the Royal Canadian Legion BC/Yukon Foundation provides rent supplements and wrap-around services to Veterans experiencing or at risk of homelessness, helping them access the help they need with as little paperwork as possible. - Canadian Veterans Service Society (CAVSS)| info@cavss.ca
Supports Veterans and their family with food, clothing, therapy, employment assistance, financial assistance, tax and dental clinics, laundry facility, and donated items. - Honour House
Provides a temporary home, free of charge, for current and former Canadian Armed Forces members, their families, and public safety personnel while they are receiving medical care and treatment in the Metro Vancouver Area.

If you can provide proof of a Canadian Military Trade Certification at QL5 or higher, you can provide this when applying to become a Trade Qualifier. You may be eligible to receive a B.C. Certificate of Qualification or Red Seal Endorsement. - WorkBC
Provide a wide range of free employment services to support you with your job search. This may include work experience placement services, job sustainment services, and more.

Team Rubicon brings together veterans and first responders to help communities affected by emergencies. A volunteer speakers bureau run by Historica Canada that connects Canadian Armed Forces members with schools and communities to share their stories with audiences of all ages. Great for those interested in public speaking or looking to build confidence in this skill.
