The Royal Canadian Legion BC/Yukon Foundation Bursaries

Graduation Awards

Legion graduation awards are available to current and former Canadian Armed Forces members graduating from a BCIT program. Bursaries are awarded to outstanding students based on faculty nomination.

Annual graduation awards include:

  • 2 x $2,000 awards
  • $2,500 award

Eligibility

  • You must be graduating from a certificate, diploma, or degree program at BCIT.
  • You must have held at least a 12.0 credit course load for the last two consecutive semesters

How to apply:

Nomination deadline is June 5 or the next business day. If you are graduating from your program after the spring or fall semester, you may be considered for the following year’s application deadline.

Funding Support

Partners in Canadian Veterans Rehabilitation Services

The BCIT Legion program and Partners in Canadian Veterans Rehabilitation Services (PCVRS) have joined forces to assist Veterans in covering upfront tuition costs. If you are a veteran and a PCVRS client, please follow the steps outlined below for funding assistance:

  1. PCVRS Approval
    Connect with PCVRS to obtain approval for your tuition payment and obtain the necessary documents. To initiate this process, you must either:

    • Input a claim on PCVRS’s portal OR,
    • Complete a claim form and submit it via fax machine, postal mail, or in person.
  2. Proof of Claim Submission
    Provide proof of your claim submission by sending it to bcit_legion@bcit.ca.
  3. Confirmation of Financial Update
    Receive confirmation from the Legion team that the email to register for your courses or program has been sent to Finance. Please check your my.bcit email for confirmation of registration. If you need further assistance with program advising, please reach out to Student Information and Enrollment Services.

Note: registration for both part-time courses and full-time programs can fill up quickly. It is recommended to register as soon as possible to secure a seat in your chosen courses or program. Please refer to upcoming registration dates for more information. Please allow 1-2 days for the legion team to contact you regarding PCVRS.
