Library Services for Other Users

Alumni

Alumni can download the BCIT Alumni Perks app and are entitled to free alumni library privileges  that includes access and use of the physical materials at the various BCIT Libraries.

Alumni may borrow up to 5 items from the collection for a two-week loan.

Selected video and DVD recordings from the circulating collection are available for a one-week loan.

Due to licensing agreements electronic databases are only available remotely to current staff and students. Alumni are welcome to access electronic databases on site at the Aerospace and Marine Campus Libraries and through the Research Network on the main floor of the Burnaby Campus Library.

Retirees

BCIT retirees are entitled to the same borrowing privileges as current faculty and staff.

A library account may be activated from the circulation desk at all three campus libraries.

Due to licensing agreements some videos and DVDs are not available for loan to retired BCIT employees.

Community borrowers

Members of the community may become extramural borrowers and gain access to selected Library services by purchasing a library card.

Cost for general community members is $52.00 per year.

Community borrowers may borrow up to five items from the collection for a two-week loan period.

Selected video and DVD recordings from the circulating collection are available for a one-week loan period.

Community borrowers may use the Library’s reference collections, including directories, maps, standards, government publications and case law.
