International students wanting to apply for the English for Professional and Academic Success (EPAS) upgrading program should follow the steps below:

  1. BCIT ID: Create your BCIT ID number (if you don’t already have one).
  2. Level Placement: Email EPAS@bcit.ca with a copy of your English placement scores or academic transcript. Note that you must qualify for placement in one of the EPAS levels in order to meet the program entrance requirement.
  3. Application: Email isc@bcit.ca to proceed with your application. Use the subject title “EPAS Application” and include the follow information in your message:
    • Your name and BCIT ID number
    • Any valid Canadian immigration document you may have
      • Examples: study permit, work permit, visitor record, no status in Canada, etc.
      • If you currently have a valid status in Canada, include a copy of your current status document in the email
    • When you would like to start the EPAS program (month and year)
    • Which academic program you intend to apply for after completing EPAS (optional)
  4. Confirmation: Upon receiving your email, International Student Centre staff will review all of your information. If all necessary information has been provided, your formal application to the EPAS program will be created in our system and you will be issued an official offer letter with additional information.
