When does BCIT’s Sexualized Violence Policy and Procedure apply?

BCIT’s Sexualized Violence Policy 7103 [PDF] and Procedure [PDF] applies when:

  • The incident occurred on BCIT property or at a BCIT‑sanctioned activity or event, either person or online.
    • Including but not limited to practicums, filed schools, co-ops, conferences
  • The individual who caused harm was acting in their role as a BCIT community member (e.g., student, employee).
  • The individual who caused harm has had an adverse impact on another person’s reasonable participation in the programs, activities, or employment at the institute

This aligns with BCIT’s Violence Prevention Procedure [PDF] and WorkSafeBC requirements for maintaining a safe environment.
