The BCIT Squash Courts are a welcoming and inclusive space where students, staff, and community members of all skill levels can play, learn, and connect. Our courts are designed to support a positive and respectful environment for everyone. Come rally, build community, and enjoy the game in a space where everyone belongs.
Bookings can be made up to seven days in advance. You can check court availability and make bookings online.

Racquets can be rented from the Recreation Services front desk for $1.68 per racquet. Squash Balls are provided free of charge.
Squash courts are open to anyone: BCIT students, staff, alumni and the public. Players of all skill levels are welcome. Whether you have experience or are a beginner, you can participate. There is a court rental fee to book the space and time.
- Court rental bookings are made online or in person.
- Court rentals are based on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Online court rental bookings are accepted up to seven days in advance.
- In person court rental bookings are only for the same day.
- Court rental participants must check in at the front desk and pick up the court key.
- An ID card is required for key pick-up.
- It is the responsibility of the court rental participant to open and lock the court once time has expired.
- Equipment is available to rent from the front desk at Recreation Services. If the equipment is damaged or not returned in the same condition, replacement fees will apply.
- Court rental refund policy: To be eligible for a refund or change in court booking date and time, 24-hour notice is required.

1. Sign in to the Online Registration System

BCIT Students and Staff:
BCIT students and staff automatically have an existing account. To set up your password, click “Sign In” and then select “Forgot your password?” Enter your BCIT email address when prompted and check your inbox for your temporary password. To qualify for BCIT student or staff rates, you must be logged in using a valid my.bcit.ca or bcit.ca email address.
PLEASE NOTE: This process will not affect your regular BCIT login, the two systems are separate.
BCIT Alumni:
To activate your alumni account, please present your BCIT Alumni Perks pass at the recreation front desk. A staff member will verify your alumni status before setting up your account.
*To access your pass, download the BCIT Alumni Perks App from the Apple Store or Google Play. Log in using your BCIT email address and password to view your digital pass.
Once your account has been verified, you will be able to receive alumni rates and book directly from your account online.
Public Members:
If you are not a current BCIT student or staff member, please create a new account. Once your account is created, you will receive a confirmation email from BCIT Recreation prompting you to verify your account.
2. Select your Squash Court
After logging in, select “Reservations” from the home page. Select either “Squash Court 1” or “Squash Court 2” to proceed with booking.
3. Complete the Booking Process
- Select your preferred date and time within the 7-day booking window.
- Click “Proceed.”
- Enter your event name in the following format:
First Name Last Name – Squash Court Booking
(Example: John Smith – Squash Court Booking)
- Select “Squash Court Booking” as your event type.
- Review and check the waiver, then initial at the bottom of the form.
- Select “Add to Cart.”
- Click “Check Out.”
- Enter your credit card and billing information.
- Select “Pay” to finalize your booking.
4. Confirmation
Upon completing your Squash Court reservation, you will receive a confirmation email providing your reservation details and receipt from BCIT_Recreation@bcit.ca.

Guidelines
General
- All participants, regardless of level and skill, are welcome.
- Treat all staff, fellow participants and equipment with respect and courtesy.
- Use the Squash Courts only during posted hours and during own reserved time(s).
- All participants must pay in advance prior to participation. Please check-in at the SE16 front desk at the time of reservation.
- To access Squash Courts, ID as collateral must be provided to Recreation Staff at the front desk upon at the time of reservation.
- All participants must complete a waiver or participation consent annually (calendar year). Minors must have a parent/guardian complete a recreation consent form annually (calendar year).
- Private lessons, training and/or external program facilitation is not permitted without prior agreement with BCIT Recreation Services.
- Report any injuries or incidents to Recreation Staff and/or BCIT Security immediately.
- Filming and photography is not permitted unless prior approval is confirmed from Recreation Services.
Facility
- Squash Courts must be used for squash activities, unless otherwise discussed with Recreation Staff in advance.
- No horseplay or other conduct that may interfere with own/other’s experience.
- No food or drink is permitted inside the court areas.
- All personal belongings must be stowed away from playing surface. BCIT Recreation is not responsible for lost or stolen belongings.
Facility
- Return rental equipment in good condition; failure to return equipment could result in a fine.
- At the end of reservation, facility access key(s) must be used to lock the court(s) then returned to the SE16 front desk or given to participants scheduled for the next reservation time.
- Report all concerns related to equipment to Recreation Staff immediately.
Apparel
- Participants must wear clean, athletic non-marking footwear at all times when using the squash courts.
- No boots of any kind (e.g. work boots, winter boots), heeled shoes or slip-on sandals are permitted, no exceptions. Proper footwear must remain on at all times.
- Protective eyewear is recommended during participation.
- All participants must wear appropriate attire (top and bottom) while in the space that is:
- Free from words or images which target another’s identity.
- Free from drug, sex or other references inappropriate for the school environment.
- Remove rings, watches, items from pockets and other loose accessories/objects that may interfere with activities prior to participation.

By using BCIT’s Recreation Services Squash Courts, participants do so at their own risk. BCIT is exempt from any responsibility, financial or otherwise, for any events that may in any way implicate, damage or threaten the personal health, safety or wellbeing of its members while using the facility.
Access to Recreation Services is a privilege. Any person violating Institution policies, Recreation Services Guidelines and/or Squash Court Guidelines may have their privileges revoked at any time.
Expectations
- Participants will check-in at the front counter and pick up the court key and leave an ID card as a deposit for the key.
- Participants will unlock the door at the start of their rental time and will lock the court at the end of their rental time.
- Play must stop at the end of the rental booking time.
- Any violators of playing past rental time will be asked to leave the court immediately.
- Appropriate athletic attire is required, and shirts must be worn at all times. Clean running shoes are mandatory.
- No food or drink in the courts.
- Please clean the courts and squash lobby area after usage.
- Private lessons, coaching and/or external program facilitation are not permitted without prior agreement with BCIT Recreation Services.
- Anyone perceived to be under the influences of drugs or alcohol will be refused entry.
- BCIT Recreation reserves the right to refuse service on violation of drop-in guidelines and expectations, inappropriate conduct or failing to follow the directions of the on-duty Recreation Services Coordinator or Assistant.
Q: Who can book a squash court?
A: Courts are open to BCIT students, employees, alumni, and members of the public. Players of all skill levels are welcome — whether you’re experienced or brand new to the sport.
Q: How do I book a court?
A: To book a court, you can book online.

Q: What do I need to do when I arrive?
A: All participants must:

Q: Can I rent equipment?
A: Yes. Equipment is available for rent at the Recreation Services front desk. BCIT students may receive squash racquets for free. BCIT Staff, Alumni and Public will receive them for $1.60/racquet. Squash balls and protective eyewear are complimentary with your court booking. Equipment must be returned in the same condition as the replacement fees will apply for damaged or unreturned equipment.
Q: How do I cancel and refund my booking? What is the policy?
A: To receive a refund or make changes to your booking, 24-hour notice is required. To cancel and refund you must call the recreation centre, we are available to cancel and refund your booking onto the card on file or apply as credit to your account.
Q: How do I modify my booking?
A: To modify your booking, call the recreation centre and we will adjust your court booking. Please have your preferred times ready so we can check the availability of the courts.
Q: What should I wear?
A: Appropriate athletic attire is required, shirts must be always worn, and clean running shoes are mandatory.
Q: Are food and drinks allowed in the courts?
A: Food and drinks are not permitted inside the courts. You’re welcome to enjoy food and beverages in the Squash Lounge area. Please help keep the space clean by disposing of all garbage and clearing tables at the end of your reservation.
Q: What if someone appears under the influence?
A: For the safety and comfort of all participants, individuals who appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be permitted to enter or remain in the Recreation Services building.
If someone is showing signs of distress or disruptive behaviour, staff may contact Campus Security to assist in escorting the patron out.
Q: Can Recreation Services refuse service?
A: Yes. BCIT Recreation reserves the right to refuse service if drop-in guidelines and expectations are violated, inappropriate conduct occurs, and/or directions from Recreation Services staff are not followed. Any behaviour deemed to violate the guidelines will be investigated fairly and without bias. Any behaviour(s) deemed to breach the guidelines can lead to verbal warnings, disciplinary actions, sanctions, suspensions, removal, or termination/revocation of privileges.
