Student Housing is hiring Residence Advisors for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Residence Advisors (RA) play a critical role in fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive community for BCIT Student Housing residents. RAs live on-site in private apartments, suites, or rooms, depending on their assignment, and act as front-line representatives of the Student Housing Office. Through community building, student support, and administrative tasks, RAs contribute to the success and well-being of students living in residence.
Senior Residence Advisors (SRA) serves as a leader within the Student Housing team, building upon the responsibilities of the Residence Advisor (RA) position. In addition to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive residence community, SRAs provide mentorship, guidance, and leadership to a small group of RAs and contribute to the overall success of the Residence Life program. SRAs play a critical role in team building, RA training, emergency response, and community development while supporting the professional and personal growth of the RA team.

Hiring Process
There are three phases in the selection of Residence Advisors. An applicant’s performance in one phase determines whether they will move on to the next level of assessment. The phases are as follows:
Phase 1: Application Form and Resume
Applications will be open until 11:59 PM on February 8, 2026. All applications must be submitted via the Residence Advisor application form. The application form can be found here: Residence Advisor application form.
Phase 2: Carousel
Applicants selected from Phase 1 will be required to attend an in-person carousel interview process on Sunday, February 22, 2026. Applicants selected must attend carousel on this date to move forward to Phase 3.
Phase 3: Interview
Applicants successful in the carousel phase will be invited to attend an interview. Interviews will take place during the months of February and March. All applicants will be notified of selection results in April. Successful applicants will be required to pass a Criminal Record Check.
