The Millwright Apprenticeship is ideal for students who have completed the Millwright Foundation program. Apprentices who have completed Millwright Foundation receive credit for the first level of the apprentice technical training. BCIT offers all four levels of the technical training for the millwright apprenticeship.
Please be aware Level 1 and Level 2 services training to the Welding and Machine Shop may occur on an afternoon shift depending on shop scheduling. This is scheduled ahead of time so you can contact your instructor if you need to know this before attending training.
About the program
The apprenticeship process requires time spent on the job supplemented by in-school training. A millwright apprentice must complete a four-year program including 6,600 workplace hours and 840 in-school hours of training. The in-school training is taken in four seven-week blocks; one each year for four years.
