BCIT encourages staff and students to take advantage of bicycle commuting as an alternative mode of transportation to and from our campuses. Cycling reduces BCIT’s carbon footprint and minimizes congestion around our campuses, as well as being a healthy way to travel.
If you are cycling to campus we provide bicycle lockers for safe and secure parking. These offer protection from theft, vandalism and inclement weather. Each locker is designed to hold one bicycle, with some extra space for additional gear. One key is provided to each person who rents a bike locker.

Student and Staff bike storage
Bike Lockers
Burnaby campus
Campus Planning and Facilities maintain 32 weather-protected bike lockers on the Burnaby campus. These are located by the SE16 east doors (24 lockers) and by the NE01 main doors (8 lockers). These lockers are available for staff and students to rent.
Marine campus
Campus Planning and Facilities maintain 8 weather-protected bike lockers on the Marine campus. These are located on the east side of the building by the southeast entrance and are available for staff and students to rent.
Bike Locker Rental Rates
Sold by the month, minimum three months price: $15/month
Note: Prices are not prorated. (Example: rental starts on 16th, renter pays for current month.)
There will be a pre-authorized damage deposit of $100.00 charged to a credit card at the time of rental. Keys must be returned within two weeks of the end date of the rental in order for the damage deposit to be refunded. Any cost incurred for unreturned keys, damages to the locker or lock, the cost of re-keying or replacing the lock, will be charged to the damage deposit.
Bike Racks
We also have approximately 350 secure bike rack spaces across Burnaby Campus some of which are covered. These are available for use by cyclists at no cost. All contents are stored at the owner’s risk.

Burnaby Campus (BCIT staff only)
14 bike storage spaces and lockers are available for rent located on the lower level of SW01.
24 bike storage spaces and lockers are available for rent located on the lower level of NW04.
BCIT staff will have their Employee Cards activated to gain access to the bike storage area. Activation of Employee cards may take up to three business days from the agreement date to take effect.
Downtown Campus (BCIT staff)
10 bike storage spaces and lockers are available for rent. Access is via the first door on your left as you drive down the parkade entry ramp
BCIT staff and tenants will have their Employee Cards activated to gain access to the bike storage area in parkade level 01. Activation of Employee cards may take up to three business days from the agreement date to take effect.
