Burnaby designated parking areas
These Staff lots are Numbered and available for all BCIT Staff & Faculty. Refer to the Map to see their locations on campus.
- Designated lots: 5, 7, 8, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 27, 28, 29
Lot exceptions and restrictions
- Staff parking lots are restricted to BCIT Staff during the day, Monday to Friday from 6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
- Staff lots are open to Students/Public after 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. and on weekends with the exception of lots 8, 24, 26 and 29 which are restricted to Staff 24/7.

Reciprocal Parking
BCIT has a reciprocal parking agreement with Simon Fraser University (SFU) that allows faculty and staff to access parking. This agreement is meant to encourage cross-institutional cooperation and provides for only the occasional use of BCIT parking facilities.
SFU faculty and staff attending BCIT Burnaby campus will be allocated in any Public/Student lot and may park free of charge for such activities as attending meetings or seminars of a departmental, academic, or administrative nature.
To request reciprocal parking at BCIT, please email parking@bcit.ca including a copy of your current valid permit, your name, ID, and your license plate number. Once approved, an email with confirmation will be sent back and your information will be added to the courtesy list for the day.
To request reciprocal parking at SFU, please email parking@bcit.ca including your BCIT ID number to receive the required proof of permit and then submit it to parking@sfu.ca along with your license plate for approval. For more information, please visit SFU Parking.
Reciprocal parking does not apply to faculty or staff attending BCIT for any of the following reasons:
- Attending classes at BCIT
- Duties related to project-specific research or study
- The general use of the library or athletic facilities
- Matters of a personal nature
Student parking areas include students and the general public. These Student lots are Lettered, see below. Refer to the Maps to see their locations on campus.
Designated lots: A, B, D, E, F, G, J, K, L, M, N, Q, S, and T.
Student e-permits and Public / Visitor pay station receipts and can be transferred from any valid student parking lot to a second lot on the same validation date.

Payment options
The Concord CTRL platform is the one stop shop for students to purchase discounted parking passes based on a rate of $7.00 per day. The Concord CTRL platform is accessed using your BCIT email and password and brings all your existing parking permit options into one portal.
Purchase weekly, and monthly parking (up to 4 months) or Flex-Pass (10 or 20-pack). Refunds are not provided for holidays or absences.
Economy Lot L
Lot L is an economy lot with a $5.75 daily rate. Spaces in this lot are on a strictly on a first come first served basis with payment at the local pay station or via the QR code in the Lot (no pre-purchase).
An Economy ticket purchased at this pay station is only to be used for the economy Lot L.
Note: Pay stations are credit card payment only, there is no cash or combo card option.
The economy lot is located south of Kyle Street. Spaces in this lot will be strictly on a first come first served basis with payment at the local pay station only or use the QR code (no pre-purchase). Contractor / Vendor parking permit
Your BCIT liaison/project coordinator may provide additional options for parking at the Burnaby campus. Please contact them for more details.
Otherwise parking will be available at all designated public / visitor locations.
Information on parking for student housing is available through the Housing Portal.
Parking of recreational vehicles, motor homes or any unlicensed vehicle is not permitted in the Student Housing parking lot. Student Housing parking permits are not transferable for use in other BCIT parking lots.
Drop off zones
- Vehicles are permitted a maximum 15-minute stop/park time.
- The new pick-up and drop-off location is on White avenue, west of SW01. These new stalls will be clearly identified with parking signage.
Located between NE9 and NE10. Vehicles must be occupied in this area.
