Various employment opportunities are available to BCIT Student Housing residents. These allow you to meet other residents, take a break from studying, and to earn some income when you’re in school.
The positions listed below are typical of those available in Housing each year:
Summer maintenance assistants (up to 35 hrs/week)
Assists the Building Facilities Coordinator with building maintenance, gutting and setting rooms, assembling furniture, watering plants, and other tasks as required. Applications for this position are available in March each year.
Student housing maintenance assistant (up to 7 hrs/week, one position)
Assists the Building Facilities Coordinator with building maintenance and room turnover, as well as helping to keep the grounds neat and attractive by watering plants and grass, removing snow and ice and other tasks as required.
Student housing computer network proctor (as required basis, one position)
Assists residents in connecting to BCIT’s internet service and troubleshoots connectivity problems as required. Residents applying for this position must also be a student employed by IT Services.
