Course Overview
This course introduces the concepts and methods of 3D modeling using AutoCAD software. While wireframe, surface and solid modeling are covered, the emphasis is on creating and editing solid models. Solid models can be used for the virtual prototyping of parts and assemblies as well as architectural massing studies. The expectation is that students have current training/experience equivalent to intermediate level AutoCAD. AICO 2000 - AutoCAD 2 is recommended.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- View 3D models from different viewpoints.
- Adjust the visual style of 3D models.
- Work with multiple coordinate systems.
- Create simple and composite solids.
- Create complex solids and surfaces.
- Modify solids.
- Create 2D drawings from 3D models.
