Course Overview
Provides practical and theoretical information required to inspect existing houses for visible defects. This covers 6 systems of a house that must be inspected as per the standards. It is the first of a series of courses that meet the academic requirements for house inspection and the qualifications for House Inspector Licensing Regulations under Consumer Protection BC (CPBC).
Prerequisite(s)
- English 12 "50% (Pass)" or equivalent www.bcit.ca/admission/upgrading/englishproficiency.shtml or COMM 0015 score of 50 or better.

International fees are typically 3.25 times the domestic tuition. Exact cost will be calculated upon completion of registration.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, the student will be able to:
- Have a basic knowledge about the first 6 systems in a house to be reviewed as per the “Standards of Practice" for a house inspector.
- Understand the responsibility of a house inspector and their limitations.
