Course Overview
This course delves into the essential elements of brand identity, guiding students through the process of creating and maintaining a strong, cohesive brand. Students will explore how mission, vision, strategy, and unique selling points (USP) shape a brand’s identity, and how to effectively communicate these through visual messaging. The course covers foundational concepts of branding, including audience research, brand story development, logo design, typography, color theory, and visual consistency across various touchpoints. Through hands-on projects, students will develop a comprehensive brand identity for an organization and create a brand standards guide that ensures consistent application across business and marketing materials. Additionally, students will apply self-branding strategies, using their own personal identity to explore brand principles. The course emphasizes best practices in brand management and provides practical experience in crafting professional branding assets that align with business objectives and resonate with target audiences.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Articulate the role of mission, vision, strategy, and unique selling points (USP) in creating a successful brand identity
- Identify and apply core branding terminology and visual messaging concepts to develop a consistent brand identity
- Conduct customer research and survey mapping to analyze brand-audience connections and improve brand positioning
- Communicate a brand’s message through a cohesive brand strategy, incorporating storytelling and visual metaphors
- Develop and design essential brand elements, including logos, typography, color palettes, and visual assets, to represent a brand’s identity effectively
- Create a comprehensive brand style guide that documents visual identity standards and ensures consistent application across touchpoints
- Apply best practices in brand identity creation and maintenance, including testing, refinement, and long-term asset management
- Develop self-branding strategies by applying brand identity principles to create a personal brand and visual identity
