Please review some of the most frequently asked questions asked by students regarding convocation.
- Spring Convocation will be held in person June 25-27. View the ceremony schedule to identify your ceremony date and time.
- The Convocation Ceremonies will take place in person at 4812 Willingdon Ave, Burnaby BC. This is just up the street from the BCIT Burnaby Campus. Location and parking information will be sent to graduates closer to the date.
- At this time we are allowing each graduate the option to bring a maximum of 4 guests to Convocation.
- There are no physical tickets for guests at Convocation, and the guest limit is a strong recommendation to ensure each graduate has the chance for their family and friends to watch the ceremony in person.
- Seating at Convocation is first come first served. All ceremonies will be livestreamed for family and friends of graduates who are unable to attend in person. There will also be overflow seating available at the venue displaying the ceremony livestream.
Family and friends of graduates who are unable to attend the ceremonies in person will be able to watch the ceremony livestream at bcit.ca/convocation. There will also be overflow seating available at the venue displaying the ceremony livestream.
Following ceremony, a recording of each video will be available to watch on our YouTube channel.
- Each Convocation ceremony will be approximately 90-120 minutes long.

- As BCIT is following current Provincial Health guidelines surrounding in-person ceremonies and events, format and health and safety restrictions related to convocation are subject to change.
- In line with current health orders, masks will be optional for graduates, guests, and staff and faculty attending Convocation. Everyone is moving at their own pace during this time, and we ask that you respect each other’s personal choices and comfort levels.
