In order to be eligible to attend Convocation, you must complete and have grades posted for all coursework including practicum assignments, and any outstanding financial obligations to BCIT must be resolved.
Apply to graduate: Full time technology and trades students do not need to formally apply to graduate. Flexible Learning, or part-time students do have to apply to graduate through completing an Application for Credential form.
For additional questions regarding applying to graduate, please reach out to Student Records at records@bcit.ca.

Students must register to attend Convocation.
Details regarding 2026 Convocation registration will be announced in the coming months.
As part of the registration process, graduates must rent their graduation regalia through Gaspard. All rentals include a gown, hood, cap, and tassel. The cap and tassel are yours to keep.
The Gaspard online reservation system will be opening in early 2026.
It is important to us that your name is pronounced correctly as you cross the stage during Convocation. An email will be sent to the address you provided during registration a few weeks prior to Convocation, inviting you to record the pronunciation of your name.
*If you do not see this email in your inbox, please check your junk and spam folders as well.
The Valedictorian is an outstanding student that is selected to represent the graduating class and delivers a formal address during Convocation. Students can be nominated by other BCIT students or instructors, and you can also nominate yourself.
Nominations for valedictorian will open in early 2026.
